Stephanie D. Hon, JD participated as a Judge for the Philip A. Harley Memorial Mock Trial Competition this January. The Mock Trial Competition is a national program through which students learn key concepts of our judicial system and hone critical thinking and debate skills. In the competitions, teams of high school students portray key players in the courtroom in a simulation of a criminal case with a pretrial motion on a Bill of Rights issue.
The 2011-2012 Mock Trial case focuses on murder and 2nd Amendment Rights. As a judge Ms. Hon will rate the student’s performances based upon their understanding and correct use of the law, court room manor and decorum, knowledge of the fact pattern and evidence, as well as court room decorum and processes.
