Long time Alameda County Support Commissioner Thomas Nixon was elevated in July by Governor Jerry Brown to Superior Court judge. Nixon, 56, of Dublin, has served as a commissioner at the Alameda County Superior Court since 2002. He was an attorney in private practice from 1998 to 2002, a partner at Quaresma, Benya, Hall, Connich, O’Hara and Nixon from 1989 to 1998 and an associate at Quaresma, Benya, Hall and Haun from 1984 to 1989. Nixon earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University. A family law attorney when he was in private practice, and having formerly sat in the family law department as a commissioner, Judge Nixon will bring a wealth of family law experience to his assignment as a family law judge in Hayward Department 504.
